Donations Needed to Help with Extraordinary Vet Expenses!

Malibu Star was once the fastest racer in West Virginia before retiring to life as a brood mama. After she had some pups, she was fully retired to a life of leisure – aka the "Couch." In March, Malibu was returned to us with several health issues and 12 pounds below her racing weight. She had a liver problem that has now been corrected, now on thyroid medication, and undergone various tests. She also had an extensive dental with tooth extractions and we hope that she is finally on the way to regaining her health.

Featured Greyt of the Month

Wendy is from Sarasota, Florida. She raced in Florida, had one litter of pups, and then lived on a farm for a couple years before being retired. You would think she has been in a home all her life. Wendy is one of the smartest females I have met. She is very loyal and minds extremely well. She really wants to please you and comes when you call her. Her favorite hobby is placing with toys and lounging on a soft bed. She has never tried to get on people furniture. Wendy would most likely do best as an only dog or with another easy going dog similar in size. She enjoys riding in the car and going places. This very beautiful lady deserves a great home with lots of toys and affection.

On April 13th, Joey's Greyhound Friends were invited to do a photo and video shoot at Tony Stewart’s farm in Indiana. Smoke #14!!! The Tony Stewart Foundation raises and donates provide monetary grants to organizations that provide programs and services for critically ill or injured children, drivers injured in motorsports activities and entities dedicated to the protection of various animal species. To date, the Foundation has awarded almost $4 million to assist charitable initiatives for more than 130 organizations throughout the United States.

Have you ever considered adopting a senior Greyhound? We highly recommend it. Known as "the best kept secret in the Greyhound adoption community", these Greyhounds make fabulous companions. Seniors have soulful eyes, are very adaptable, and appreciative of having a home.
